A social campaign to form part of Age UK’s Act Now, Age Better initiative by spotlighting the exercise stories of real people from all walks of life.
Many people aged 50-65 don’t see movement as a priority because they don’t feel “old” yet. They feel they still have time on their side before they need to worry about their health.
However, by the time they feel most of the effects caused by inactivity it’s often much harder to reverse. Our task was to show people who had de-prioritised exercise or movement that little movements on a regular basis could lead to a healthier later life.

The secret is that staying active now isn’t about adding years to your life; it’s about adding life to your years. We needed people to see that staying active doesn’t have to mean becoming an athlete. And that the hardest part isn’t the exercise itself – it’s believing there’s a version of it that’s for you.
To make movement feel more accessible, we set out to redefine what an athlete looks like.
We created Team Age Better – a team of ten everyday people united not by elite performance, but by a shared commitment to staying active in ways that worked for them. Filmed in an East London sports hall, we captured everything from park runs and rounders to wheelchair tennis and cold-water swimming, celebrating the huge variety of ways people can move.
Sports broadcaster Gabby Logan narrated our film, bringing warmth, credibility and momentum to the campaign.
Supporting the hero film was a series of personal vox pops, where each team member shared why movement matters to them and offered practical advice to help others take their own first step. We also created a suite of Top Trumps-inspired social cards, turning each member of Team Age Better into a relatable sporting hero and reinforcing the idea that every form of movement deserves celebrating.
